2024 AFPSAT Schedule, Requirements

The Armed Forces of the Philippines Service Aptitude Test, or AFPSAT, is the pre-entry examination for qualified applicants who wish to join the armed forces. If you are planning to join the Philippine Army, Philippine Navy, or Philippine Air Force, you must first take and pass this test administered by the Army Recruitment Office. To help you take the first step toward your future military career, we will discuss the requirements and schedule of the AFPSAT in 2024. Without further ado, here is the schedule of AFPSAT for the year 2024.

AFPSAT Qualifications and Requirements

The AFPSAT is only given to those who are qualified to take the Officer Candidate Course, the Officer Preparatory Course, or the Candidate Soldier Course. That article is for the Philippine Army, but it is also applicable to the Air Force and Navy.

If you intend to join the Army through its Officer Candidate Course (OCC), here are the qualifications:

• You must be a college graduate with a bachelor’s degree.
• Must be a natural-born Filipino
• 21 to 27 years of age upon admission
• Single and never been married; never borne or sired a child;
• A height of not less than 5’0 ft. (152.4cm) both for male and female, but not more than 6’4” (193.04 cm);
• Of good moral character;
• Physically, mentally and psychologically fit for active military service (P1 profile);
• Armed Forces of the Philippines Service Aptitude Test (AFPSAT) raw score of 71 or higher;
• Must have passed other pre-entry written examinations given by the Philippine Army (Army Qualifying Exam (AQE) & Special Written Exam (SWE)); and
• Must pass the Physical Medical Exam and Physical Fitness Test conducted in the Philippine Army through the Philippine Army Officer Selection Committee Interview (PAOSC)

If you are planning to take the Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) and be enlisted, you must possess the following qualifications:

• Must be a natural-born Filipino citizen;
• With 72 units in college or, if a high school graduate, must possess technical skills and talents needed by the AFP;
• At least 18 to 26 years old before the date of appointment as Candidate Soldier;
• At least 5’0” or 60 inches in height. Similarly, height waiver is no longer issued by the Command;
• Single and without a child;
• Of good moral character;
• AFPSAT score of at least 45;
• Must have passed the pre-qualifying Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Physical Medical Exam (PME);
• Physically and mentally fit for military training

Basic Requirements:

If you think you have all the qualifications, please prepare the following basic requirements for the AFPSAT:

• Birth Certificate in SECPA issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority
• Original Transcript of Records and Diploma (for degree holders)/TOR for college undergraduates.
• Original diploma with Form 137-A ( for high school graduate applicants but with Tesda or Vocational course certificate)
• Government-issued Valid ID (e.g., PhilSys ID, Driver’s License, SSS ID)
• 2 pcs 2×2 picture with white background
• Female applicants should be at least 72 units from college.
• Mongol Pencil No.2.
• Medical Certificate from Municipal / City Health Office stating that you are COVID-FREE/Fit to travel.
• face mask, face shield, and disinfectant/alcohol

2024 AFPSAT Schedule and Venue

Passing Score and Mechanics

After taking and passing the AFPSAT, the results will be valid for 3 years. All the major services in the AFP (Army, Navy, and Air Force) shall recognize the AFPSAT results as valid, and you do not need to repeat the same test if you decide to apply in another branch of service within the 3-year validity period.

If you only managed to get a below-passing score, a retake shall only be allowed and it shall be conducted at least 6 months after the first examination. Examinees who failed the test will not be allowed for a retake.

If you are an officer candidate who will undergo the Officer Candidate Course or the Officer Preparatory Course, you must pass this exam with a raw score of 88 or higher.
